CVE-2026-0996

20
FAUCET Score

CVE-2026-0996 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Fluent Forms plugin for WordPress, specifically versions up to and including 6.1.14, through its AI Form Builder module. The flaw stems from missing authorization checks, a leaked nonce, and inadequate input sanitization, allowing authenticated Subscriber-level users to inject malicious JavaScript. This JavaScript executes when any user views the generated form. Rated 6.4 MEDIUM on the CVSS scale, this vulnerability has a low attack complexity and requires low privileges (PR:L), but can lead to limited confidentiality and integrity impacts (C:L/I:L) by executing arbitrary web scripts in the context of other users. The attack vector is over the network (AV:N), and user interaction is not required (UI:N). Currently, there is no evidence of active exploitation, and no public exploit code is available for Metasploit, Nuclei, or ExploitDB. Community discussion and media coverage for this CVE are minimal, which is typical for the vast majority of vulnerabilities.
