CVE-2025-52882 describes a critical vulnerability in Claude Code extensions for VSCode (versions 0.2.116-1.0.23) and JetBrains IDEs (beta versions 0.1.1-0.1.8). This flaw allows an attacker to establish unauthorized websocket connections when a user visits a malicious webpage. With a CVSS score of 8.8 (High), the vulnerability enables attackers to read arbitrary files, view open files, and in some VSCode scenarios, execute limited code or access sensitive IDE events. While a patch was released on June 13th, 2025, there is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
