CVE-2025-49124 is an Untrusted Search Path vulnerability in the Apache Tomcat installer for Windows, affecting versions 11.0.0-M1 through 11.0.7, 10.1.0 through 10.1.41, and 9.0.23 through 9.0.105, as well as several End-of-Life versions. This flaw, rated 8.4 HIGH on the CVSS scale, allows for local privilege escalation with high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability, due to the installer using icacls.exe without a full path specification. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage regarding this vulnerability.
