CVE-2025-40944 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting numerous Siemens SIMATIC ET 200AL, ET 200MP, ET 200SP, and PN/PN Coupler devices. The vulnerability allows an unauthenticated attacker to render affected devices unresponsive by sending a specially crafted S7 protocol Disconnect Request on TCP port 102, requiring a power cycle for recovery. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity and no user interaction.
