CVE-2025-12899 is a medium-severity information-leak vulnerability in the Zephyr RTOS network stack. It allows an unauthenticated attacker to trigger an out-of-bounds memory read by sending a specially crafted IPv4 packet containing ICMP type 128, which is misclassified as an ICMPv6 Echo Request. This flaw could lead to the disclosure of sensitive information within the networking subsystem. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this vulnerability.
