CVE-2024-8288 describes a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the Guten Post Layout – An Advanced Post Grid Collection for WordPress Gutenberg plugin, affecting all versions up to and including 1.2.4. This flaw allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious web scripts into pages via the 'align' attribute of the 'wp:guten-post-layout/post-grid' block. The vulnerability is rated Medium severity (CVSS 6.4) due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping, enabling arbitrary script execution when an affected page is viewed.
