When the TCP listener option 'proxy_protocol_behavior' was set to 'deny_unauthorized', Vault would shut down upon receiving requests from unauthorized IP addresses, rendering the API server unresponsive. This vulnerability has a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), indicating a network-based attack with low complexity and a high impact on availability. While the conditions for exploitation were limited in some older versions, the issue is fixed in Vault 1.17.2, 1.16.6, and 1.15.12.
