CVE-2024-52016 describes multiple stack overflow vulnerabilities in the wlg_adv.cgi component of several Netgear router models, including the R8500, XR300, R7000P, and R6400 v2. An authenticated attacker on the local network can exploit these vulnerabilities by sending a crafted POST request to the apmode_dns1_pri or apmode_dns1_sec parameters, leading to a Denial of Service (DoS). With a CVSS score of 5.7 (Medium), this vulnerability requires local network access and authentication, but has low attack complexity and no user interaction.
