CVE-2024-45971 describes multiple stack-based buffer overflows in the MMS Client of MZ Automation LibIEC61850 versions prior to commit 1f52be9. A malicious server can trigger these vulnerabilities by sending a crafted MMS IdentifyResponse message. This critical vulnerability (CVSS 9.8) allows for remote code execution and denial of service, with no user interaction required. Currently, there is no public exploit code available, nor is there evidence of active exploitation or significant community discussion.
