CVE-2024-41111 is a critical Remote Code Execution (RCE) vulnerability affecting Sliver version 1.6.0 (prerelease), an open-source adversary emulation framework. A low-privileged "operator" user can exploit this flaw to execute arbitrary commands as the root user on the teamserver, effectively allowing the server to compromise itself. This high-severity vulnerability (CVSS 7.2) has a network attack vector and low attack complexity, enabling an attacker to gain full control over the server, including viewing logs, modifying files, and deleting the server. While not yet addressed, a fix is anticipated before the full release of version 1.6.0, and there is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion.
