CVE-2024-40912 is a deadlock vulnerability in the Linux kernel's mac80211 WiFi subsystem. Specifically, the ieee80211_sta_ps_deliver_wakeup() function can deadlock when attempting to acquire the sta->ps_lock, as it doesn't properly prevent softirq execution on the same CPU. This medium-severity vulnerability (CVSS 5.5) has a local attack vector and low attack complexity, potentially leading to a denial of service (system stall).
