CVE-2024-3229 is a critical arbitrary file upload vulnerability affecting all versions up to and including 10.2 of the Salon booking system plugin for WordPress. This flaw stems from missing file type validation and authorization checks in the SLN_Action_Ajax_ImportAssistants function, allowing unauthenticated attackers to upload malicious files. With a CVSS score of 9.8 (CRITICAL), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity and no user interaction required, potentially leading to remote code execution, full data compromise, and service disruption. The EPSS score of 0.08746 indicates a higher-than-average exploitability probability compared to most CVEs. Currently, there is no evidence of active exploitation, nor are there publicly available exploits in Metasploit, Nuclei, or ExploitDB. Community discussion and media coverage for this CVE are minimal, which is typical for the majority of vulnerabilities.
