CVE-2024-29210 is a local privilege escalation (LPE) vulnerability affecting Phish Alert Button for Outlook (PAB) versions 1.10.0-1.10.11, Second Chance Client versions 2.0.0-2.0.9, and PIQ Client versions 1.0.0-1.0.15. It allows a regular user to modify the application's configuration file due to improper permissions, redirecting update checks to a malicious server. This vulnerability, when chained with CVE-2024-29209, can lead to arbitrary code execution with elevated privileges, potentially resulting in full system compromise. The CVSS score is 2.8 (LOW), indicating a low attack complexity and high privileges required.
