CVE-2024-29019 is a Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerability affecting ESPHome version 2023.12.9 (command line installation). This flaw allows remote attackers to manipulate configuration files (create, edit, delete) on a logged-in user's ESPHome dashboard by tricking them into visiting a specially crafted webpage. With a CVSS score of 8.1 (High), the vulnerability has a network attack vector, low attack complexity, and high impact on confidentiality and integrity, as it bypasses authentication for API calls. While there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion, this vulnerability can be chained with CVE-2024-27287 for a complete user account takeover. A patch is available in ESPHome version 2024.3.0.
