CVE-2023-5680 describes a performance degradation vulnerability in BIND 9 versions 9.11.3-S1 through 9.11.37-S1, 9.16.8-S1 through 9.16.45-S1, and 9.18.11-S1 through 9.18.21-S1, as well as NetApp's Active IQ Unified Manager. This issue arises when a resolver cache contains a large number of ECS records for a single name, leading to significant impairment of query performance during cache cleanup. With a CVSS score of 5.3 (Medium), this vulnerability has a low impact on availability and requires no user interaction or privileges to exploit.
