CVE-2023-5487 describes an inappropriate implementation in Google Chrome's Fullscreen functionality, affecting versions prior to 118.0.5993.70, as well as Fedora Project's Chrome and Fedora. This medium-severity vulnerability (CVSS 6.5) allows an attacker to bypass navigation restrictions by convincing a user to install a malicious Chrome extension. The attack requires user interaction (UI:R) but can be executed remotely (AV:N), leading to high integrity impact (I:H). There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
