CVE-2023-4155

20
FAUCET Score

CVE-2023-4155 is a medium-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's KVM AMD Secure Encrypted Virtualization (SEV) feature, affecting various Fedora and Red Hat Enterprise Linux distributions. A KVM guest configured with SEV-ES or SEV-SNP and multiple vCPUs can trigger a double fetch race condition, leading to a recursive VMGEXIT handler invocation. This can result in a stack overflow, causing a denial of service or potential guest-to-host escape in kernels without stack guard pages. Currently, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this vulnerability.
