CVE-2023-3591 describes a critical vulnerability in Mattermost and Mattermost Server where previously generated password reset tokens remain valid even after a new one is requested. This flaw, rated 8.2 HIGH on the CVSS scale, allows an attacker to potentially hijack user accounts by exploiting the invalidated tokens. While the vulnerability has a high severity and a simple attack vector (AV:N/AC:L), there is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion.
