CVE-2023-30571 is a race condition vulnerability in Libarchive versions through 3.6.2 that can lead to directories being created with world-writable permissions (0777). This flaw, rated Medium severity (CVSS 5.3), allows a low-privileged local attacker to delete or rename files within these implicitly created directories due to a temporary umask change during archive operations. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this vulnerability.
