CVE-2023-24062 describes a vulnerability in Diebold Nixdorf Vynamic Security Suite (VSS) versions prior to 3.3.0 SR12, 4.0.0 SR04, 4.1.0 SR02, and 4.2.0 SR01, where the Pre-Boot Authorization (PBA) process fails to properly validate the root file system's directory structure. This medium-severity flaw (CVSS 6.8) allows a physical attacker to manipulate the hard disk contents, leading to high impacts on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
