CVE-2023-22396 is an Uncontrolled Resource Consumption vulnerability in Juniper Networks Junos OS, affecting various versions across multiple releases. An unauthenticated attacker can trigger a Denial of Service (DoS) by sending crafted TCP packets directly to a configured IPv4 or IPv6 interface on the Routing Engine, leading to an MBUF leak. This high-severity vulnerability (CVSS 7.5) requires a manual restart to restore service, as the system does not recover automatically.
