CVE-2023-2199 is a Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS) vulnerability affecting GitLab CE/EE versions 12.0 through 15.10.7, 15.11 through 15.11.6, and 16.0 through 16.0.1. An unauthenticated attacker can trigger this vulnerability by sending crafted payloads to the preview_markdown endpoint. This high-severity vulnerability (CVSS 7.5) has a low attack complexity and can lead to a denial of service.
