CVE-2023-20187 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting Cisco IOS XE Software on Cisco ASR 1000 Series Aggregation Services Routers, specifically within the Multicast Leaf Recycle Elimination (mLRE) feature. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this by sending specially crafted IPv6 multicast packets that are fanned out more than seven times, causing the device to reload. This vulnerability has a CVSS score of 7.5 (High) due to its network-based attack vector and high impact on availability, requiring no user interaction or privileges.
