CVE-2023-0465

21
FAUCET Score

CVE-2023-0465 is a medium-severity vulnerability affecting OpenSSL when non-default certificate verification options are enabled. A malicious Certificate Authority (CA) can exploit this by asserting invalid certificate policies in leaf certificates, causing OpenSSL to silently ignore these policies and bypass intended security checks. This could lead to a compromise of integrity (CVSS 5.3). There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this vulnerability.
