CVE-2022-49703 is a NULL pointer dereference vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ibmvfc SCSI driver, affecting Linux kernel versions. This flaw occurs during kexec/kdump operations on Power 9 systems with legacy XICS interrupt controllers, where a pending subcrq interrupt can cause the kernel to attempt to dereference a garbage pointer. Rated as MEDIUM severity (CVSS 5.5), it requires local access (AV:L, PR:L) and can lead to a denial of service (A:H) due to a kernel crash. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this vulnerability.
