CVE-2022-43971 is an arbitrary code execution vulnerability affecting Linksys WUMC710 Wireless-AC Universal Media Connector devices running firmware version 1.0.02 (build3) or earlier. An authenticated attacker with administrator privileges can exploit this flaw by sending a crafted GET or POST request to the /setNTP.cgi endpoint, allowing them to execute arbitrary commands as root on the device's underlying Linux operating system. This vulnerability has a CVSS score of 7.2 (HIGH), indicating a high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability, with a network-based attack vector and low attack complexity. There is currently no public exploit code available, nor is there evidence of active exploitation or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
