CVE-2022-40997 describes multiple stack-based buffer overflow vulnerabilities within the DetranCLI command parsing functionality of Siretta QUARTZ-GOLD G5.0.1.5-210720-141020 firmware. Specifically, the vulnerability resides in the function handling the 'gre index <1-8> destination A.B.C.D/M description (WORD|null)' command template. This critical vulnerability (CVSS 9.8) can be exploited remotely without authentication, allowing an attacker to achieve arbitrary command execution by sending specially crafted network packets.
