CVE-2022-3486 is an open redirect vulnerability in GitLab EE/CE, affecting all versions prior to 15.3.5, 15.4.4, and 15.5.2. This medium-severity flaw (CVSS 6.1) allows an attacker to redirect users to an arbitrary, untrusted location if the user clicks on a specially crafted URL, potentially leading to phishing or other social engineering attacks. While the vulnerability requires user interaction (UI:R), it can be exploited remotely (AV:N) with low complexity (AC:L), resulting in potential compromise of confidentiality and integrity (C:L/I:L). Currently, there is no evidence of active exploitation, and no public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB) is available. Despite limited community discussion, the vulnerability has received some media attention, indicating awareness within the security community.
