CVE-2022-22249 is an Improper Control of a Resource Through its Lifetime vulnerability in Juniper Networks Junos OS on MX Series devices. An unauthenticated, adjacent attacker can trigger continuous MAC moves, leading to memory corruption in the Packet Forwarding Engine (PFE) and causing one or more Flexible PIC Concentrators (FPCs) to crash and reboot, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS). With a CVSS score of 6.5 (Medium), this vulnerability has an adjacent attack vector and low attack complexity, allowing an attacker to cause high availability impact without user interaction. The EPSS score is very low, indicating a low probability of exploitation in the wild.
