CVE-2022-22191 is a Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability affecting Juniper Networks Junos OS on EX4300 switches. An unauthenticated, network-adjacent attacker can trigger a Packet Forwarding Engine (PFE) crash and restart by sending a flood of specific ARP traffic. This results in temporary traffic interruption and, in a virtual chassis, potential FPC splits. The vulnerability has a CVSS score of 6.5 (Medium), indicating a low attack complexity (AC:L) and no user interaction required (UI:N), leading to high availability impact (A:H). It affects all versions prior to specific patched releases across various Junos OS branches. Currently, there is no evidence of active exploitation, nor is there any public exploit code available in Metasploit, Nuclei, or ExploitDB. Community discussion and media coverage for this CVE are also minimal.
