CVE-2022-20949 is a high-privilege authentication bypass vulnerability in the management web server of Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) Software, allowing authenticated, remote attackers to execute configuration commands. This medium-severity vulnerability (CVSS 4.9) arises from improperly restricted access to HTTPS endpoints, enabling an attacker to perform unauthorized configuration changes that should be managed solely via Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC) Software. While the attack complexity is low, requiring high privileges, the impact is limited to integrity. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
