CVE-2022-20795

19
FAUCET Score

CVE-2022-20795 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software and Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) Software, specifically impacting the Datagram TLS (DTLS) protocol implementation during AnyConnect SSL VPN connections. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this by sending crafted DTLS traffic, leading to high CPU utilization and resource exhaustion on the VPN headend. This can disrupt existing DTLS tunnels and prevent new ones from establishing, though the device recovers when the attack ceases. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), this vulnerability has a low attack complexity and no user interaction required. There is currently no public exploit code available, it is not known to be actively exploited, and it has received minimal community discussion or media coverage.
