CVE-2022-20745 describes a denial of service (DoS) vulnerability in Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software and Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) Software. This flaw stems from improper input validation in the web services interface for remote access VPN features. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this by sending a specially crafted HTTPS request, causing the affected device to reload. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (HIGH), this vulnerability has a low attack complexity and no user interaction is required. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
