CVE-2021-31363 describes a Loop with Unreachable Exit Condition vulnerability in the routing protocol daemon (RPD) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved. This flaw allows an unauthenticated, adjacent attacker to cause a sustained Denial of Service (DoS) condition by sending specific LDP FECs when sensor-based-stats are enabled, leading to high RPD load and routing protocol flaps. With a CVSS score of 6.5 (Medium), the attack requires adjacent network access but has low complexity and no user interaction, resulting in high availability impact. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage for this vulnerability.
