CVE-2020-9289 describes a critical vulnerability in FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer versions 6.2.3 and below, where a hard-coded cryptographic key is used to encrypt CLI configuration password data. This allows an attacker with access to the CLI configuration or backup files to decrypt sensitive data due to knowledge of the key. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (HIGH), this vulnerability has a low attack complexity and high confidentiality impact, as it can be exploited remotely without user interaction.
