CVE-2020-6984 describes a critical vulnerability in Rockwell Automation MicroLogix 1100 and 1400 controllers, as well as RSLogix 500 software, where the cryptographic function used to protect passwords is discoverable. This allows an unauthenticated attacker to remotely obtain sensitive information, specifically the controller password, with low attack complexity. While rated as HIGH severity with a CVSS score of 7.5, there is currently no evidence of active exploitation, publicly available exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this vulnerability.
