CVE-2020-5609 is a critical directory traversal vulnerability affecting multiple Yokogawa industrial control systems, including CENTUM CS 3000, CENTUM VP, B/M9000CS, and B/M9000 VP. This flaw allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to create or overwrite arbitrary files and execute arbitrary commands. With a CVSS score of 9.8, it presents a severe risk due to its network-based attack vector, low attack complexity, and high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Despite its critical severity, there is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
