CVE-2020-5599 is a critical argument injection vulnerability (CWE-88) affecting the TCP/IP function within the firmware of Mitsubishi Electric GOT2000 series human-machine interfaces (GT27, GT25, GT23 models running CoreOS -Y or earlier). This flaw allows a remote, unauthenticated attacker to inject malicious arguments into commands via specially crafted packets. The high-severity impact includes the ability to disrupt network functions or execute arbitrary malicious programs on the affected devices, as indicated by its CVSS score of 9.8 (Critical). Despite its critical nature, there is currently no evidence of active exploitation, publicly available exploit code (e.g., Metasploit, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
