CVE-2020-4520 describes a critical cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in IBM Cognos Analytics versions 11.0 and 11.1, as well as related NetApp products. This flaw allows a remote attacker to inject malicious HTML code, which, when viewed by an authenticated user, can lead to the execution of arbitrary code, resulting in high impacts to confidentiality, integrity, and availability. With a CVSS score of 8.8 (High) and an easily exploitable attack vector requiring only user interaction, this vulnerability poses a significant risk. Despite its severity, there is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
