CVE-2020-3213 is a privilege escalation vulnerability in the ROMMON of Cisco IOS XE Software. An authenticated, local attacker can exploit this by passing special parameters during initial boot-up. This allows the attacker to elevate privileges from a Priv15 user to the root user, enabling arbitrary command execution. The vulnerability has a CVSS score of 6.7 (MEDIUM), indicating a local attack vector with low complexity, requiring high privileges, and leading to high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
