CVE-2020-24972 describes a critical remote code execution vulnerability in the Kleopatra component of GnuPG, affecting versions prior to 3.1.12 and 20.07.80, as well as products like fedoraproject and opensuse. This flaw allows attackers to execute arbitrary code by manipulating openpgp4fpr: URLs to load malicious DLLs via the Qt platformpluginpath command-line option. With a CVSS score of 8.8 (High), the vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low complexity, potentially leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
