20
FAUCET Score

CVE-2019-9676 describes a buffer overflow vulnerability in specific Dahua IPC-HFW1XXX, IPC-HDW1XXX, and IPC-HFW2XXX IP Camera devices built before November 2018. This flaw, located in a serial port redirection display function, allows a local, authenticated attacker to cause a device restart or achieve arbitrary code execution. With a CVSS score of 7.8 (High), it requires local access and low privileges, but its impact is significant, leading to high confidentiality, integrity, and availability compromise. There is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage. Dahua has released patches and removed the vulnerable function in newer devices.
