CVE-2019-17216

28
FAUCET Score

CVE-2019-17216 is a critical vulnerability affecting V-Zug Combi-Steam MSLQ devices (before Ethernet R07 and WLAN R05 firmware) where password authentication relies on the insecure MD5 hashing algorithm. This allows for trivial password cracking, leading to a complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. With a CVSS score of 9.8, this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity and no user interaction required. While there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion, the inherent weakness of MD5 makes this a severe risk.
