CVE-2019-17044 describes a local privilege escalation vulnerability in BMC Patrol Agent 9.0.10i, affecting BMC and Linux kernel environments. An attacker with "patrol" user privileges can exploit weak execution permissions on the PatrolAgent SUID binary to elevate their privileges to root by injecting a specially crafted shared library. This vulnerability has a high CVSS score of 7.8 due to its low attack complexity and high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
