CVE-2019-16915 is a critical path traversal vulnerability affecting pfSense versions through 2.4.4-p3. The vulnerability arises from improper sanitization of the 'widgetkey' parameter in widgets/widgets/picture.widget.php, allowing an attacker to manipulate file paths used by file_get_contents or file_put_contents. With a CVSS score of 9.8 (Critical), this flaw permits unauthenticated remote attackers to achieve high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. There is currently no public exploit code available, nor is there evidence of active exploitation or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
