CVE-2019-10143

24
FAUCET Score

CVE-2019-10143 describes a local privilege escalation vulnerability in FreeRADIUS versions up to 3.0.19, affecting various Fedora and Red Hat Enterprise Linux distributions. A local attacker with existing control of the radiusd user could exploit a misconfiguration in logrotate to write to normally inaccessible directories, thereby escalating privileges to root. Despite a high CVSS score of 7.0 (High) indicating significant impact (confidentiality, integrity, availability), the attack complexity is high, and the upstream maintainer disputes the exploitability. There is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
