CVE-2018-7432 describes a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting Splunk Enterprise versions prior to 6.2.14, 6.3.10, 6.4.7, and 6.5.3, as well as Splunk Light before 6.6.0. This flaw allows unauthenticated remote attackers to disrupt service by sending a specially crafted HTTP request. With a CVSS v3 score of 7.5 (High), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, leading to a complete loss of availability. While there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or Metasploit modules, the vulnerability has garnered some community discussion and media coverage.
