CVE-2018-7296 describes a Directory Traversal vulnerability in the User.getLanguage method of eQ-3 AG Homematic CCU2 firmware versions 2.29.2 and earlier. This flaw allows unauthenticated remote attackers to read the first line of arbitrary files on the CCU2's filesystem via the web interface. The vulnerability has a CVSS score of 5.3 (Medium), indicating a low attack complexity and no user interaction required, but with limited impact, as it only allows partial disclosure of information (reading the first line of a file). There is no impact on integrity or availability. Currently, there is no evidence of active exploitation, nor are there publicly available exploit codes in Metasploit, Nuclei, or ExploitDB.
