CVE-2018-6918 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting FreeBSD versions prior to 11.1-STABLE, 11.1-RELEASE-p9, 10.4-STABLE, 10.4-RELEASE-p8, and 10.3-RELEASE-p28. A flaw in the IPsec option header's length field, specifically when it's zero, leads to an infinite loop, allowing a remote attacker to crash the system by sending a specially crafted packet. Rated with a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low complexity and no user interaction, resulting in a complete loss of availability.
