CVE-2018-5500 describes a memory leak vulnerability affecting F5 BIG-IP systems running specific versions (13.0.0, 12.1.0-12.1.3.1, or 11.6.1-11.6.2) when a virtual server utilizes a TCP profile with the Multipath TCP (MCTCP) feature enabled. This medium-severity vulnerability (CVSS 5.9) allows an unauthenticated attacker to cause a denial of service (availability impact) with high attack complexity, as each MCTCP connection leaks a small amount of memory, eventually exhausting resources.
